nice post. so true that companies need to be ever vigilant to not let a small percentage of disgruntled (lets say 2% or less) throw off their whole audience, but I think in the case of animal fur, there might be a higher percentage that agree with PETA. But that could just be my perception.

If 98% of people love the bunny fur, I saw screw it and keep going, but if it is more like 80/20 or 70/30, they might want to start looking at synthetic fur.

Again, nice post. Very thought provoking and I had not heard of the incident.

I agree with you that the randomness of groupon made it really appealing and I dont think this will change, but I think the persistence of the stores will help. I feel like they should implement a "random store" button or maybe a urbanspoon style deal finder where you say what you are looking for and they show you what stores have deals. I think Groupon will understand that because they dont want to do what Digg did and basically become a link sharing site. If people only go there to spam links to deals it will die quickly.

nice article... I was wondering how Groupon was going to try to solve their scalability issues. Groupon store sounds interesting, but I wonder if people like getting the random deals and finding out about unique stores rather than getting coupons from stores they already like.

This is Great! I completely agree with you that customers now want to interact with business instead of just being told what to do. This is a great way to attract their attention at first (not very easy to do anymore), and keep them up to date with the company. So many people now a days find it more important to have their finger on the pulse of the shops they visit so often. It seems to add a more personal touch.
